Fall Events (2007)

• September 12 - First AIChE Meeting - At this semester kick-off meeting, the new officers were introduced, AIChE events for the semester were announced, and students spoke about their summer internships in the field.  Pizza was served and enjoyed by all after inspiring speeches from Dr. Abulencia and Dr. Flynn

• October 17 - Senior Dinner - The Manhattan College career night was a great opportunity for the current senior chemical engineers to meet potential employers and practice interviewing skills. Representatives from Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Bristol Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson, Malcolm Pirnie, Conoco-Phillips, HDR, Infinium, Control Associates, and Nexant attended the event at Nono Tony’s restaurant on October 17, 2007. Dr. Abulencia, who hosted the event, assured that all students got the chance to speak to many different representatives. There were also two mock interviews demonstrating panel and classic interviewing styles. The seniors took advantage of this occasion by distributing resumes and networking. Overall, the seniors were glad to get the opportunity to meet people from industry without the stress of a career fair or an interview.   

• October 31 - Second AIChE Meeting - Speeches were given by previous students about their life after graduation.  They discussed the career choices they made in relationship to their chemical engineering degrees.  New Public Relations officers Michelle Stein and Nick Ruffini were announced.  Pizza was served.  CAREER AND FLEXIBILITY! - A great speech by our very own Dr. Abulencia.

• November 28 - Ice Skating in the City - Spend time with fellow chemical engineers in this fun and festive winter event!

• December 8 - AIChE End of Semester Dinner - Celebrate the culmination of the semester with AIChE!
