Prof. Saukin specializes in teaching undergraduate courses in water resources and is also involved in the freshman-level engineering design course.

Prof. Saukin created a program to introduce high school to career opportunities in all branches of engineering.  This program initiated in 1982 and has been running continuously for 28 years.  Over the years, the program has been sponsored by many organizations.  The current sponsors include the ACE Mentorship Program of New York City, the Metropolitan Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and many engineering corporate sponsors.
