Faculty Honors & Recognitions

Richard H. Heist is a Guest Editor of a special volume of the Journal of Physical Chemistry B. This special volume, titled the Howard Reiss Festschrift, honored the many scholarly achievements of Dr. Howard Reiss, Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at UCLA.

Gordon Silverman has been named to serve on the Technology Committee on Biomedical Engineering for the International Association of Science and Technology for Development, 2001-2004.

Dominic Di Toro has been named Chair of the Environmental Sciences Gordon Conference: "Chemical Reactivity and Bioavailability in Environmental Systems: Assessing the State of the Science for Metals and Organic Chemicals." Holderness School, Plymouth, NH. June 23-28, 2002.

John Jeris was awarded the Gordon Maskew Fair Award by the Water Environment Federation, October, 2001. Award recognizes teachers for exceptional training and development of future engineers.
