Electrical and Computer Engineering

461. Biomedical Instrumentation.  Multidisciplinary approach to selected biological and medical problems.  The origins and significance of biological potentials.  Techniques for studying them, particularly in relation to cardiovascular and central nervous system functions.  Crucial differences between self-regulating electrical systems that are a prime concern of the electronics engineer and the living organisms that are the prime concern of the biologist/physician.  The special constraints involved in studying or modifying the latter.  Three lectures.  (Cr.3)

Prerequisite: Senior status.
