Chester Nisteruk holds the B.E.E., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, and has been at Manhattan for more than 30 years. He teaches in the areas of communications, optics, signals and systems, and electromagnetics. His research interests include communications, statistical mechanics, and electrophysics. A confirmed bibliophile, he enjoys roaming the bookstores of New York for interesting "finds". He is an avid student of physics and of history (especially the history of science), and he weaves into his teaching an appreciation of how the giants of technology contributed to our current understanding of the world around us. Ask him to quote some lines from any Gilbert and Sullivan operetta.
