George Prans holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Physics,
as well as a Master's and Ph.D. (Electrical Engineering) from Stevens Institute of
Technology. He teaches in the areas of electrophysics, electronics,
networks, and computer programming. His research and consulting areas
include electric vehicles, solar cells, and 60-Hz magnetic fields.
Over a 22-year period, he has applied principles of electrical,
mechanical, and civil engineering to designing and building by himself
a house in Vermont, and in doing all repairs on his 8- and 17-year old
Volvos. He is a valuable member of the team when student
versus faculty softball games are played.
