Dr.
John Jeris, Emeritus Professor of Environmental Engineering, received the
prestigious Gordon Askew Fair Medal from the Water Environmental Federation at
this year's Water Environment Federation National Meeting (2001).
The Gordon Askew Medal celebrates and acknowledges the outstanding
achievements of Dr. Jeris' distinguished career.
This and other awards received by Dr. Jeris celebrate him as a teacher,
research, mentor and innovator in the area of biological treatment of
wastewaters, and most notably fluidized bed treatment.

“Studies
on the Preservation of the Tarrytown Reservoirs". Funded by the Village of
Tarrytown. Funding Period: 9/1/1999 – 12/30/2000.
Budget: $50,000.
"Water
Quality Monitoring Program for Lower Westchester County". Funded by the
Department of Planning, Westchester County. Amount granted: $366,844 (3 years
starting January 1997).
