Interests:

• Analysis, simulation, and design of advanced propulsion systems and power-generating units are primary interests of Dr. Akbari. He has developed a broad base of research activities in gasdynamics and combustion topics, specializing in unsteady-compressible flow. His particular interests design and numerical simulation of pressure-exchange wave rotors, pulse detonation engines, and rotary pressure gain turbine engines known as Constant Volume Combustion (CVC) engines.

Postdoctoral Research Associate, Purdue University in Indianapolis (IUPUI), design and simulation of the Rolls-Royce’s CVC engine, 2004-2006

• Received the Michigan State University Research Enhancement Award as a graduate fellowship, USA, 2003.
